Have you ever experienced the joy of helping someone pay for their meal, clean their home, provide transportation, or another form of giving? It’s a gift to be able to give. As the Bible says:
“And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35 NLT
You see, giving can ignite a spark of joy within you when you give from a place of love and pure motives. During the age of performative giving, it can be easy to feel tempted by the urge to announce one’s giving to the world, but it’s even better to give in private outside of collective giving, and even then, there’s a level of privacy you can hold to.
You see, Living Water Organics, chooses to be transparent with giving so that our customers know that their money goes beyond their haircare, skincare, or pet care. We view this as collective giving as it’s only possible because of God and all of you who have supported us. 10% of the profits go to those in need and it is an honor to give along side each person that has shopped with us.
But beyond giving by shopping at purpose driven brands like Living Water Organics, I encourage you to give more in your personal life. As a faith-based brand, we encourage you to take time in prayer, to ask God how He would have you give and to whom. Trust that He will lead you. I truly believe that you’ll experience the joy of helping that neighbor who went through a difficult time recently, or helping that school receive the resources they need, or helping the seniors that live paycheck to paycheck.
Sometimes giving means skipping out on something you meant to buy yourself, but it’s that self-sacrificial love that we obtain through Christ, that unlocks the fullness of joy that we could only have in Him. So I encourage you to give. To take part in being a helping hand in someone else’s time of need. And know that when you’re ready to restock your haircare and skincare, some of yours dollars will fund brighter futures, safer living quarters, cleaner water and healthier meals, attainable medical assistance and education, and, most importantly, the Gospel.
“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NLT
